USILA Release

Louisville, KY| Junior keeper Andrew Brust of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's lacrosse team earned U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American Honorable Mention accolades when the organization released its 2021 awards on Friday afternoon.

Brust, who appeared on the Skyline All-Conference First-Team and was named Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Year on May 10, becomes the first player in program history to earn All-American honors of any kind.

Brust started all eight games for SJC this season and posted a 4-4 record. The junior finished the season third in the nation in save percentage (.660) and fourth in goals-against average (.637). Additionally, Brust led the Skyline Conference in total saves (97) and was second in saves per game (12.13).

A two-time Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Week in 2021, Brust established new program-bests for single-season save percentage and goals-against average. Additionally, Brust extends his career save record to 289 saves and ranks second in career save percentage (.601) and goals-against average (8.54). Brust's nine career wins are also the most in SJC history.

The Golden Eagles qualified for the Skyline Conference Championship tournament as the fourth seed and were defeated, 8-7, by top-seeded and eventual champion SUNY Maritime on May 5.
