Men’s Lax Cruises Past Purchase on Wednesday

Purchase, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's lacrosse team improved to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in Skyline Conference play with a dominant 17-2 victory over SUNY Purchase on Wednesday evening.

Jack Gilbride scored four times and dished out three helpers as the Golden Eagles picked up their second win in their last three contests.

Tyler Kollar went for four goals and one assist, while Michael Carere scored three goals, collected three ground balls, and won four of eight faceoffs.

Anthony Dibene and Jesse McKeever were credited with a game-high five ground balls apiece.

Andrew Brust (W, 5-5) made nine saves in 45:00 minutes of action. Connor Van Dusen and Anthony Loiacono made two saves apiece in the fourth quarter. 

SJC dominated from the outset, scoring four times in the first quarter and five times in the second.

At 4:53 of the third quarter, Tim McCann scored SJC's 12th-straight goal en route to a 17-2 victory.

SJC outshot Purchase 50-23, was credited with more ground balls (38-22), and won 13 of 22 faceoffs.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, April 23, when they host Manhattanville for a Skyline Conference contest at 3:00 pm.
