Director of Athletics Melody Cope announced on July 15, 2022 the appointment of Tim Tuttle as the head coach of the St. Joseph's University, New York – Long Island men's lacrosse team.

Tuttle arrived from Division I Stony Brook University, where he served as an assistant coach in 2022-21 working primarily with faceoff players.

Prior to his time at Stony Brook, Tuttle was an assistant at the New York Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2020. With Division II NYIT, Tuttle handled all aspects of recruiting and was the offensive coordinator from 2018 to 2020. He ran the defense in 2014 and 2015.

From 2007 to 2014, Tuttle was the head coach of the Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team. During his time at the helm, the Rams played in four Skyline Conference semifinals and one conference final. In 2011, he was named Skyline Conference Coach of the Year.

An accomplished collegiate player himself, Tuttle won the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Award—awarded the nation's top goalie—at NYIT in 1994. In 1993 and 1994 he was an All-American and was elected to the New York Institute of Technology Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.

In 1991 and 1992 Tuttle played at Farmingdale State and led the Rams to a Region XV championship in 1992. He was an All-Region selection twice at Farmingdale.
