SJC & Mount St. Vincent Play to 2-2 Draw

Yonkers, N.Y. – The Golden Eagles took on the evenly matched Mt. St. Vincent Dolphin team on Sunday and one overtime period could not produce a game winner as the contest concluded tied, 2-2.

Both teams had their fair share of chances in the first half but the goalkeepers were terrific. St. Joseph's had 11 first half shots but the Dolphins keeper was up to the task.

The Eagles would finally find an answer early in the second half as in the 48th minute, Daniel Soranno (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) chipped the keeper from 20 yards out to give St. Joseph's the lead.

The Eagles only held the lead for about ten minutes until Kevin Jardines beat Avery Gomez (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) for his 11th goal of the season.

The Golden Eagles found their way back in front when Andrew Stasiewicz (Mount Sinai, N.Y./Mount Sinai) found the head of Cody Kull (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) at the 75:28 mark.

With just three minutes remaining, Jardines equalized once again sending the game to overtime. The Eagles five shots in the overtime period could not find the back of the net.

The Golden Eagles will host the Farmingdale Rams on October 24th at 7:00 P.M.
