SJC Topped by Mt. St. Vincent Dolphins, 2-1

Riverdale, N.Y. – Sophomore Cody Kull (Manorville, N.Y. / Eastport-South Manor) logged the Golden Eagles' (6-12, 3-4 Skyline) only goal in St. Joseph's 2-1 loss to Skyline Conference opponent Mount Saint Vincent (7-8, 3-3 Skyline).

Mount Saint Vincent was the first to strike in the contest, scoring a rebound goal at 5:28.

The Golden Eagles responded at the 43:03 mark when Kull cleaned up SJC's captain Gaetano Innamorato's (West Babylon, N.Y. / West Babylon) deflected shot and put the ball to the back of the net.

At 43:18, SJC's Justin Heredia (Patchogue, N.Y. / Patchogue-Medford) drew a red a card which caused the team to play a man-down the rest of the way. Heredia has been one of St. Joseph's best playmakers, tallying two goals and four assists on the season.

Although playing short for the entire second half, the Golden Eagles managed to control the time-of-possession over the Dolphins, outshooting them 10-4.

The Eagle's strong offensive play wasn't enough to seal the game as Mount Saint Vincent finished off the Golden Eagles with a late goal at 82:08.

During this Skyline Conference match-up, emotions flared up with both teams combining for seven yellow cards and one red card.

St. Joseph's goalkeeper Avery Gomez (Bay Shore, N.Y. / Bay Shore) tallied seven saves on the day.

SJC will take on their Skyline Conference rivals, Farmingdale State College, at Farmingdale this Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
