Men’s Soccer Drops 4-1 Decision to Mt. St. Vincent

Riverdale, NY|Dustin Genco scored in the second half of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's soccer team's 4-1 Skyline Conference loss at the College of Mount St. Vincent on Wednesday afternoon.

The loss sends the Golden Eagles to 3-8-1 overall on the year and 2-7-1 in Skyline play as the Dolphins improve to 10-1-2 and 7-1-1. 

Genco's 56th minute goal capped the match's scoring after the Dolphins tallied four times in the first half.

Antonio Padilla scored in the 15th and 26th minutes, Alejandro Rodriguez in the 41st minute, and Juan Cadenas found the back of the net on the stroke of halftime. 

SJC keeper Tyler Flaherty faced 15 shots and was credited with two saves. Joel Luna and Erick Pantoja split time in the CMSV net and combined for three saves. 

Kyle Plate and James Dacos both registered a team-best two shots for St. Joseph's. The Dolphins won five corners to SJC's four.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, October 23, when they host SUNY Old Westbury for a Senior Day showdown at 12:00 pm.
