Men’s Tennis Sweeps Sarah Lawrence for First Win of the Season
Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's tennis team picked up its first victory of the 2018 season following a 5-0 sweep of Skyline Conference foe Sarah Lawrence College on Wednesday evening.
With the result, both the Golden Eagles and Gryphons move to 1-4 overall on the year and 1-3 in conference play.
The duo of Damian Duda and Dylan Trude picked up SJC's first win of the evening with an 8-0 victory at third doubles. The second-doubles team of Ryan Freeley and Kyle Conway and the first-doubles pair of Peter Rasmussen and Tyler Yaskanich followed suit with 8-3 victories.
Conway shutout SLC's Ben Dougherty, 6-0, 6-0, at fourth singles before Duda clinched victory for the hosts with a 6-0, 6-1 win at fifth singles.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, April 14 when they visit the College of Staten Island for a 12:00 pm match.
