Men's Tennis Ends Season with Loss to USMMA

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's tennis team wrapped up its 2021 season with a 9-0 home defeat to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at the SJC Outdoor Field Complex on Monday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles, who will miss out on the Skyline Conference Championship, finish the season with a 0-5 mark overall and in Skyline Conference play. The Mariners improve to 3-1 with the victory.

In doubles action, the second pairing of Joshua Turk and Tyler Brock fared best, stealing a single game in an 8-1 defeat.

Matt Lopez (0-6, 1-6) and Jeremy Anderson (1-6, 0-6) were the only Golden Eagles to notch game wins in losses at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.

Seniors Kenneth Pettersen and Jeremy Anderson, both expected to graduate, played in their last collegiate matches.
