Manhattanville Beats Men's Tennis on Wednesday

Purchase, NY| The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) men's tennis team was defeated, 9-0, by Manhattanville College in a Skyline Conference contest on Wednesday evening.

The loss sends the Golden Eagles to 2-9 overall on the year and 1-5 in Skyline play as the Valiants improve to 9-5 and 6-0.

The first doubles pairing of William Vita and Jessica Jones fared best in doubles action for SJLI with an 8-1 loss.

Jones and Angela Avecillas Martinez lost 6-0, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-0 at second and fourth singles, respectively, and were the only two Golden Eagles to win games in singles action. 

The Golden Eagles wrap up their regular season on April 30 when they host Sarah Lawrence for a Skyline Conference contest at 12:00 pm.
