Men's Volleyball Starts Season with Sweep of Yeshiva

New York, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team started the 2021 season with a 3-0 sweep over Yeshiva University on Wednesday evening.

The Golden Eagles bookended the match with 25-8 wins in sets one and three with a 25-12 win in set two.

Freshman Mark Williams led all players with a game-high nine kills, seven aces, and nine digs. Senior Jack Solen pitched in with eight kills. Junior Quinn Foglia knocked down five kills while hitting at a .571 clip.

Freshman setter Clint Johnson completed his debut with a game-best 29 assists with three aces.

The Maccabees were led by Alon Jakubowitz with two kills. Steven Zelmanovich and Ariel Rivkin provided one kill apiece. Michael Stark and Sibi Selvarajah finished with two assists each with Shimon Ohana picking up three digs.

The Golden Eagles return to the Danzi Center on Sunday, March 14, and host the Maccabees for a pair of conference matches. Game times are set for 12:00 and 1:30 pm.
