Men's Volleyball Takes Down Eastern Nazarene in Home Opener

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team took down Eastern Nazarene College 3-0 in their home opener on Friday evening.

The Golden Eagles improve to 2-1 on the season as the Lions fall to 0-2.

SJC made quick work of the visiting Lions with 25-15, 25-17 and 25-12 wins in straight sets.

Senior middle Quinn Foglia led the Golden Eagles with nine kills while hitting at a .667 clip. Sophomore Mark Williams added seven kills with four digs with graduate student Mark Jensen rounding out the top scorers with six kills. Graduate student Paul Curaro posted a match-best five aces while adding five kills. Sophomore setter Clint Johnson tossed 24 assists.

Alejandro Garcia Fernandez led the Lions with nine kills while Delly Soler finished with seven. Setter Aaron Huang dished 10 assists with Fernando Paredes picking up a match-high seven digs.

The Golden Eagles return to action when they travel to Arcadia University on Wednesday, January 26. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
