Men's Volleyball Sweeps Lehman and Pratt on Saturday

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team claimed a pair of non-conference 3-0 sweeps over Lehman College and the Pratt Institute in the Danzi Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles improve to 6-1 on the season.

SJCLI 3, Lehman 0

St. Joseph's used a team hitting percentage of .519 to cruise to a 25-8 win in the opening frame before completing the sweep with 25-14 and 25-17 wins in sets two and three.

Paul Curaro led the Golden Eagles with 12 kills while recording three service aces and four digs. Quinn Foglia knocked down 10 kills while putting up a pair of blocks. Mark Williams finished with seven kills while hitting at a .500 clip and Mark Jensen pitched in with six kills.

Setter Clint Johnson tossed 26 assists with Michael Lane recording 11. Jason Siriban picked up a team-best eight digs with Williams finishing with seven.

Ray Rodriguez led the Lightning with five kills while picking up four digs. Miguel Gonzalez finished with four kills with setter Christian Agudo recording 11 assists and a team-best six digs.

SJCLI 3, Pratt 0

Johnson served all 25 points for the Golden Eagles in set one recording nine aces en route to a 25-0 win. SJC went on to take the second set 25-9 before completing the sweep with a 25-10 win in set three.

Curaro finished with 8 kills while posting a .800 hitting percentage. Matthew Dolan pitched in with six kills with Jensen adding five.

Setter Michael Lane dished 15 assists while Thomas Renick picked up four digs.

Akul Kasliwal and Thomas Van Trier recorded kills for the Cannoneers with libero Kiefer Johnson posting seven digs.

The Golden Eagles will travel to face SUNY New Paltz on Thursday, February 10. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
