Men's Volleyball Falls at New Paltz, 3-1

New Paltz, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.)  men's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 non-conference loss at SUNY New Paltz on Thursday evening.

The Golden Eagles move to 6-2 on the season as the Hawks improve to 9-3.

SJC took an early lead with a 25-19 win in the opening frame, but New Paltz answered with 25-16, 25-18, and 25-17 wins over the next three sets.

Paul Curaro led all players with 16 kills on the night while serving a pair of aces and recording four digs. Jason Siriban and Mark Williams finished with four kills apiece with the latter picking up a team-best five digs. Setter Clint Johnson finished with 21 assists.

The Hawks were led by a couple of 12-point performances by Chris Shanley and Evan Kane. Setter Kyle Shaffer recorded 37 assists while Dan Larosa had a match-best 11 digs.

The Golden Eagles return to the Danzi Center when they host Brooklyn College and Drew University on Saturday, February 12 at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, respectively.
