Men's Volleyball Bounces Back with 3-0 Sweep of Yeshiva

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team picked up a Skyline Conference sweep of Yeshiva University in the Danzi Center on Thursday evening.

The Golden Eagles improve to 13-3 on the season with a 3-0 Skyline record. The Maccabees drop to 2-4 overall, 1-3 Skyline.

As a team, St. Joseph's hit a season-high .511 on the night and finished a perfect 11-for-11 at the net in set one cruising to a 25-4 win. The Golden Eagles went on to complete their 11th sweep of the season with 25-11 and 25-9 victories in sets two and three, respectively.

Mark Williams led all players with 10 kills out of 11 attempts to hit at an .818 clip and finished with four aces. Paul Curaro pitched in with eight kills and a match-high seven aces.

Setter Clint Johnson tossed a match-best 14 assists while adding three aces, two kills, and two blocks. Michael Lane dished 10 assists and collected five digs.

Alon Jakubowitz led the Maccabees with three kills and finished with two blocks. Setter Benjamin Goldstein recorded four assists and libero Avi Braun picked up a team-best four digs.

The Golden Eagles resume Skyline Conference action on Monday, March 14 when they travel to New Jersey City University. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
