Men's Volleyball Picks Up a Pair of Wins over CMSV and Purchase

Bronxville, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team claimed a pair of Skyline Conference victories on Saturday with 3-0 wins over the College of Mt. St. Vincent and SUNY Purchase.

The Golden Eagles improve to 17-3 on the season and remain unbeaten in Skyline play with a 7-0 record.

SJC 3, CMSV 0

St. Joseph's opened the first set on a 6-0 run and cruised to a 1-0 match lead with a 25-12 win. As a team, the Golden Eagles hit .625 in set two lifting them to a 25-15 win before securing the sweep with a 25-19 win in set three.

Paul Curaro led all players with 14 kills and three service aces. Mark Jensen finished in double figures with 12 kills while providing six digs.

Setter Clint Johnson dished a match-best 26 assists with libero Jason Siriban collecting 10 digs.

Kyle Thompson led the Dolphins with six kills while setter Miguel Losa tossed five assists and Samual Martinez recorded four digs.

SJC 3, Purchase 0

The Golden Eagles continued to roll in the second match of the day with a 25-7 win in the opening frame with the Panthers. St. Joseph's went on to capture their second sweep of the day with 25-12 and 25-19 wins in sets two and three, respectively.

SJC's Mark Williams led the Golden Eagles with 11 kills and six service aces. Curaro finished with seven kills and a match-high eight digs with Jensen and Matthew Dolan adding five kills.

Setters Michael Lane and Johnson dished 18 and eight assists, respectively

The Panthers were led by a four-kill performance from Jeremiah Huntt. Setter Idris Idris finished with six assists. Huntt also recorded a team-best six digs.

The Golden Eagles remain on the road as they travel to face St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn on Tuesday, March 22. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
