Curaro Breaks Single-Season Kill Record in Skyline Semifinal Win

Patchogue, NY| Graduate Student Paul Curaro broke the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball single-season kill record in the 3-0 Skyline Conference Semifinal sweep of Sarah Lawrence College in the Danzi Center on Thursday night.

The Golden Eagles claimed 25-8, 25-3, and 25-14 wins to improve to 24-3 on the season and advance to the Skyline finals. The Gryphons end their season at 8-14.

Curaro shatters his own record of 299 kills set during the 2017 season with a match-high 13-kill performance while serving seven aces. Mark Williams knocked down nine kills while hitting at a .727 clip and collected a match-best four digs. Quinn Foglia converted on five of his seven attempts and had two blocks.

Setter Clint Johnson tossed 26 assists with Michael Lane finishing with 12. Libero Thomas Renick picked up three digs.

Ralph Calle-Schulz accounted for SLC's lone kill with Jane Joncha finishing with three digs.

The Golden Eagles are set to host second-seeded New Jersey City University for the Skyline Conference Championship in the Danzi Center on Saturday, April 9. Game time is set for 3:00 pm.
