The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball team claimed a non-conference win 3-0 over Drew University on Friday evening

Top performers

• Senior Tyler Anderson led the Golden Eagles with 10 kills while hitting at a .667 clip. The right side added five blocks with three aces and three digs

• Junior Mark Williams pitched in with eight kills and served up a game-best four aces

• Middle Quinn Foglia recorded five kills on nine attempts with five blocks

• Setter CJ Johnson dished 23 assists with a pair of kills and picked up a team-best eight digs

• Tynoah Ehia led the Rangers with six kills with setter Omarf Ortega-Reyes finishing with 12 assists and five digs

How it happened

• The opening set was closely played in the early points before the Golden Eagles began to pull away midway through reaching the 20-point mark first. The visitors would finish strong for the 25-17 win

• The Rangers inched to within one, 22-21, late in set two, but St. Joseph's claimed the final three points for a 25-21win

• Ahead 17-11 in the third, the Golden Eagles went on to finish the match on an 8-0 run that included three service aces from Williams and took the set 25-11

• As a team, Golden Eagles hit .333 while holding the Rangers to - .060

• St. Joseph's finished with 20 total blocks to Drew's six and held an 8-2 advantage on the service line

The Golden Eagles return to the Danzi Center and will host Eastern Nazarene for a non-conference matchup on Friday, February 10 at 5:00 pm.
