The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 Skyline Conference semifinal win over the College of Mt. St. Vincent in the Danzi Center on Thursday evening.

Top Performers

• Luke MacPherson led the Golden Eagles with a match-best 10 kills while hitting at a .615 clip. The freshman added five digs, three assists, and a pair of aces

• Junior Mark Williams pitched in with nine kills, seven digs, and a match-best five service aces

• Junior CJ Johnson recorded match-highs with 30 assists and nine digs. The setter added three kills on five attempts and an ace

• Senior Quinn Foglia knocked down six kills on seven tries for a match-high .857 hitting percentage

How it happened:

• The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early match lead when they limited the Dolphins to just six kills while finishing with 11 en route to a 25-11 win in set one

• St. Joseph's continued dominance in the second frame again taking double digit leads before four-consecutive service aces to four different Dolphins from Williams closed out another 25-11 win

• The third set saw CMSV's best effort with their only positive hitting percentage, .098, on the night, but a five-kill performance from MacPherson led the Golden Eagles to a 25-18 win

• St. Joseph's tallied 37 kills compared to Mt. St. Vincent's 17

• SJLI finished with 12 service aces to the Dolphins one

Next up, the top-seeded Golden Eagles advance to their fifth straight Skyline Conference Championship match on Saturday, April 15 when they host second-seeded Ramapo College at 4:00 pm.
