Defina Captures NFCA All-Northeast Region Honors
Louisville, KY| Junior outfielder Jenna DeFina of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) softball team appeared on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Northeast Region Third-Team when the organization released it's All-Region teams on Friday afternoon.
DeFina, an All-Northeast Region Second-Team selection in 2019, led the Golden Eagles in batting average (.560), on-base percentage (.598), hits (42), runs (28), and stolen bases (16) this season.
Among Skyline Conference leaders, DeFina was second in batting average, third in on-base percentage, fourth in runs scored, third in hits, and first in stolen bases. The outfielder is currently tied for 11th in the nation in batting average and 18th in on-base percentage.
In 21 appearances this season, DeFina recorded four doubles and one triple and drove in 10 runs. The 2019 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week on March 22 and appeared on the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll on May 4.
DeFina and the third-seeded Golden Eagles begin play in the double-elimination Skyline Conference Championship tournament this afternoon vs. second-seeded Manhattanville College.
