Softball Places Four on Skyline All-Conference Teams

Skyline Release

New York, NY| Four members of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) softball team appeared on Skyline All-Conference teams when the organization released its end-of-season awards on Monday afternoon.

Gracing the First-Team for the second-straight season was junior outfielder Jenna DeFina. Junior Patricia McGloin and seniors Paige Csikortos and Lindsay Ness landed on the Second-Team.

DeFina, an NFCA All-Northeast Region Second-Team selection on Friday, led the Golden Eagles in batting average (.537), on-base percentage (.580), hits (43), runs (29), and stolen bases (16) this season.

At the time of voting, DeFina was second in the conference in batting average, third in on-base percentage, fourth in runs scored, third in hits, and first in stolen bases.

McGloin tossed 92.0 innings for the Golden Eagles this season and posted an 8-6 overall record with a 3.50 ERA. She ranked sixth in the conference in strikeouts (55) and seventh in opposing batting average (.275).

Selected as Second-Team DP, Csikortos was fifth on the team in batting average (.333) and drove in five runs while scoring six times in 18 appearances. The SJC-Brooklyn transfer posted a .512 on-base percentage and a .367 slugging percentage.

A Second-Team selection for the second time in her career, Ness hit .397 this season with a team-leading 20 RBIs and eight doubles. The catcher was seventh in the conference in doubles and 11th in RBIs.

The third-seeded Golden Eagles were eliminated from the double-elimination Skyline Conference Championship on Friday afternoon with losses to Manhattanville and Mount St. Mary College.
