Four Golden Eagles Appear on Softball All-Conference Teams

New York, NY| Seniors Jena DeFina and Lindsay Ness and sophomores Riley Lim-Ellis and Julia Ruocchio appeared on Skyline Softball All-Conference teams when the conference released its end-of-season awards on Monday morning.

DeFina, the 2019 Skyline Rookie of the Year, appears on the First-Team as an outfielder for the third time in her career. She was Skyline Conference Player of the Week on April 26 and led the conference in batting average and OBP, was second in stolen bases, seventh in OPS and runs scored, and ninth in hits. She became the program's all-time steals leader this season and had 11 multi-hit games.

Designated player Lim-Ellis also graced the First-Team in her first collegiate season. She landed on the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll on April 19 and was fourth in the conference in OBP and 5th in batting average. Lim-Ellis had seven multi-hit games and five games with multiple RBIs.

Ness is a Second-Team selection at the catcher position for the third time in her career and landed on the Skyline Weekly Honor Roll three times this year. Among conference leaders she was third in RBIs, fifth in hits, sixth in doubles and batting average, seventh in triples, and 10th in slugging % and OPS.  She had 15 multi-hit games and 10 games with multiple RBIs.

Ruocchio was Skyline Conference Player of the Week on April 5 and was a Weekly Honor Roll selection three times this season. She lands on the Second-Team at the third base position after finishing the regular season fifth in the conference triples, sixth in OBP, seventh in RBIs, and eighth in batting average. Ruocchio had nine multi-hit games and seven games with multiple RBIs.

The fourth-seeded Golden Eagles lost to fifth-seeded St. Joseph's University (Brkln) in the first round of the Skyline Conference playoffs on May 3.
