Riverdale, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's basketball team dropped a Skyline Conference contest to the College of Mt. St. Vincent 70-43 on the road on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles move to 11-6 on the season with an 8-6 Skyline record. The Dolphins improve to 13-3 overall, 11-3 Skyline.
Three Golden Eagles finished with a team-best 10 points with senior Alyssa Signor completing the double-double with 10 rebounds. Junior Alyssa Adomaites and sophomore Lanyah Ford also finished in with 10 points with the latter dishing a team-high four assists.
CMSV had balanced scoring from four of their five starters with Kaylan Hanley knocking down a game-best 19 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the field. Amber Been pitched in with 14 points and six assists with Victoria Hanley and Kira Villegas finishing with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
The Dolphins maintained control throughout the game building their largest lead, 52-22, late in the third quarter, and cruised to a 27-point win. SJC was held to just 24.2% from the field while the hosts finished at 45.3%. The Dolphins shot well from three-point range knocking down 66.7% while St. Joseph's struggled from beyond the arc hitting just 3-25.
SJC will travel to take on St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn on Wednesday, February 9 at 7:00 pm.
