Women's Soccer Falls to Farmingdale 2-0 in Regular-Season Finale

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Farmingdale State College on Tuesday night in a Skyline Conference matchup at Danzi Stadium. With the loss, the Golden Eagles fall to 5-12-1 (4-4-1 Skyline) on the season, while the Rams secure first place with the win and cap of the season 9-9-3 (9-0).

The Rams established themselves early in the match, recording five shots in the first 12 minutes. Stockton continued to control the pace of the game and possessing the ball for the majority of the half. Outshot 16-3 in the first half, the Golden Eagles entered halftime at 0-0.

Farmingdale continued to pour on the shots in the second half, creating 10 shots and winning five corners before breaking the scoreless bout.  The Rams would capitalize on their seventh corner of the night, when Destiny Pomarico crossed the corner to Elizabeth Dasilva who struck it home for the 1-0 lead in the 78th minute. Farmingdale continued its strong attack winning another corner which led to the Rams second goal when Alexandria Tudisco headed the ball past Juliana Cintron-Leonardo for in the 83rd minute. The Golden Eagles would try to send people up, but the Rams' defense held the Golden Eagles scoreless.

Cintron's 17 saves were a season's-best in a match that saw her side out-shot 31-2.

St. Joseph's will look to capture its second straight Skyline Championship as the Golden Eagles head into the first round of playoffs, when they travel to Albany, NY to take on the Sage College on Saturday, October 29.  Kick-off is set for 5:00 PM
