Women's Soccer Stunned in Double Overtime

Patchogue, NY| An overtime goal lifted Sarah Lawrence College to a 1-0 win over the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team in a Skyline Conference matchup at Danzi Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The loss moves the Golden Eagles to 9-5-0 on the season with a 6-3-0 Skyline Conference mark. The Gryphons improve to 9-8-0 overall, 4-5-0 Skyline.

Despite dominating offensively and outshooting SLC 20-8 with a 4-0 edge in corner kicks, the Golden Eagles surrendered the match's lone goal when Sarah Lawrence's Lily Matalus tapped in a loose ball in the 103rd minute.

Gryphon keepers Maya Pfieffer and Bridgette Lee combined for 14 saves with SJC's Miklayla Ritter finishing with two.

The Golden Eagles wrap up the regular season on Wednesday, October 27 when they travel to take on Manhattanville College at 4:00 pm.
