Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's volleyball team saw its four-game winning streak come to and end on Thursday evening when it suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Skyline Conference rival Farmingdale State inside the Danzi Center.

With the loss, the Golden Eagles slip to 6-10 on the year and 2-2 in conference play as the Rams improve to 13-7 (4-0 Skyline).

The SJC offense was powered by senior Morgan Tiska, who hit .385 in the match and put down a game-high 13 kills. Senior Jessica Monteserrato dished out a game-high 26 assists

Junior Danielle Senecal was credited with a team-best 16 digs, and senior Claire Urizzo collected 12. In total, the Golden Eagles recorded 59 digs.

Knotted up at 16 in the first set, Farmingdale rattled off five-straight points and surged to a 25-22 victory.

Down 24-19 in the second, SJC grabbed the next two points to bring the score back to within three (24-21), but freshman Jessica Young's service error fired the guests to a 25-21 win to go up 2-0 in the match.

The hosts pulled ahead 14-9 in the third and looked poised to extend the match, but Farmingdale scored 16 of the set's final 20 points (25-18) to clinch the three-game sweep.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, October 14 when they host Misericordia and Western Conn. State for a non-conference tri-match inside the Danzi Center at 12:00 pm. Live stats for all three matches will be available here.
