Women's Volleyball Splits at Kean University

Union, NJ| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team split a pair of non-conference contests at Kean University on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles came away with a 3-1 win over New England College before falling to Kean 3-0.

SJC now sits at 3-5 on the season.

The Pilgrims (2-11) took an early 1-0 lead with a 25-22 win in set one, but the Golden Eagles quickly responded taking the next three sets 25-14, 25-19, and 25-11.

Sophomore Kaitlin Williams led SJC with a match-high 14 kills while providing seven digs. Senior Amanda Rose and sophomore Jessica Young recorded double-digit kills with ten apiece. Setter Brionna Silva recorded 35 assists, 10 digs, and four service aces.

Tihani Ehia led the Pilgrims with nine kills. Maggie Dadmun recorded a double-double of 11 assists and 13 digs.

In the second match of the day, the Cougars (8-3) pulled off the sweep with 25-19, 25-19 and 25-15 wins.

Senior Kristen Bohnenblusch finished with a team-high six kills for the Golden Eagles. Silva dished nine assists while Rose recorded 10 digs.

Vikki Stec had a match-high 12 kills for the Cougars with Michelle Froehlich providing 30 assists. Sarah Sample led all players with 16 digs.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, September 18 when they travel to Albertus Magnus. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
