Women’s Volleyball Completes Sweep of Lehman

Bronx, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's volleyball team swept Lehman College in a road non-conference contest in the Bronx on Wednesday evening and improved to 9-7 on the year.

Sophomore Kaitlin Williams posted a .304 hitting percentage and put down a game-high 11 kills. Sophomore Jessica Young was credited with six kills while freshman Gillian Donaghy and senior Kristen Bohnenblusch collected four kills apiece.

Sophomore Toni Parente dished out a team-best nine assists and senior Danielle Senecal was credited with nine digs. Williams' five service aces were a game-high.

After taking the first set 25-14, SJC stormed to a 25-7 win in the second set. Met by a more persistent Lehman side in the third, the Golden Eagles clawed back from a late-set deficit and edged the Lightning 29-27 to complete the three-game sweep.

SJC totaled 28 kills to Lehman's 19 in the contest and boasted a superior hitting percentage (.081-.041).

The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, October 5 when they host Salve Regina in the St. Joseph's College Tournament at 8:00 pm.
