Women's Volleyball Advances to Semifinals with Win Over SJC-Brooklyn

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team advanced to the semifinal round of the Skyline Conference Championships with a 3-1 win over St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn Tuesday night.

The Golden Eagles improve to 20-11 overall and the Bears close out the season at 12-11.

SJCLI grabbed an early lead with 25-9 and 25-17 wins in sets one and two, but the Bears held off elimination with a 25-20 win in the third set. The Golden Eagles bounced back to take set four 25-9 for the 3-1 match win.

Danielle Silkin and Amanda Goldstein led the Golden Eagles with 13 kills apiece. Kristen Bohnenblusch recorded a double-double of 10 kills and 20 digs. Kaitlin Williams also finished with ten kills and had four block assists at the net. Setters Brionna Silva and Toni Parente dished 29 and 21 assists, respectively. Libero Danielle Senecal collected a match-high 24 digs.

Cristina Morales led the Bears with seven kills with Briana Marrazzo pitching in with six. Setter Makayla Beehler tossed 18 assists and Valentina Urgo finished with 16 digs.

The Golden Eagles move on to face the second-seeded Knights of Mt. St. Mary in Newburgh, NY on Thursday, November 1. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
