Women's Volleyball Advances to Skyline Finals with 3-1 Win Over Mt. St. Mary

Newburgh, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team defeated second-seeded Mt. St. Mary College 3-1 in the Skyline Conference semifinal round on Thursday evening.

The Golden Eagles improve to 21-11 overall and advance to the finals to face fourth-seeded Mt. St. Vincent College who defeated the top-seeded U.S. Merchant Marines, 3-2.

Both teams exchanged victories in sets one and two with SJC taking the first 25-20 before the Knights grabbed the second, 25-21. The Golden Eagles went on the take sets three and four both by scores of 25-23 for the 3-1 match win.

Sophomore Kaitlin Williams led SJC with a double-double of 14 kills and 17 digs with senior Kristen Bohnenblusch pitching in with a double-double of her own of 11 kills and 17 digs. Freshman Amanda Goldstein finished in double figures with 10 kills along with eight digs and two block assists. Setter Brionna Silva dished 42 assists and libero Danielle Senecal turned in a match-high 25 digs.

Ally Klesin led the Knights with 16 kills and Morgan Burke added 12. Setter Kim Gries recorded 40 assists and Klaire Wall scooped 23 digs.

The Golden Eagles will host the Dolphins on Saturday, November 3 in the Danzi Center at 1:00 pm.
