Women's Volleyball Sweeps Maritime, 3-0

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's volleyball team took down SUNY Maritime in straight sets on Thursday evening.

The Golden Eagles even out at 4-4 on the season with a 2-0 Skyline Conference mark. The Privateers fall to 2-6 overall, 0-3 Skyline.

SJC opened the match with a 25-14 win in the first set and followed with 25-15 and 25-17 wins in sets two and three, respectively.

Amanda Goldstein led all players with 13 kills while hitting at a .476 clip. Jamie Trowbridge and Kelly Kuhner pitched in with five kills apiece. Setter Tara Langford dished 21 assists with April Sexton finishing with a match-best 12 digs.

Jessica Mele and Celyna Custodio led the Privateers with five kills each. Setter Brooke Kirchner tossed 12 assists and Victoria Cordero and Erica Pagano recorded seven digs apiece.

The Golden Eagles return to action with a non-conference tri-match against Montclair St. and Neuman College on Saturday, October 2. Match times are set for 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
