Women's Volleyball Falters Twice on Saturday

Montclair, NJ| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference contests on the road on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles fell twice 3-0 Montclair St. and Neumann University and now sit at 4-6 on the season.

Montclair St. 3 SJC 0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-12)

Lauren Harmer SJC with five kills with Deirdre Carney pitching in with four.  Setter Tara Langford tossed nine assists with Kayla Martin and Kellianne Dempsey finished with 10 digs apiece.

The Red Hawks were led by Carly Waterman with 11 kills and Leah Higgins who finished with 10. Setter Delaney St. Pierre recorded 31 assists with Katelyn Monaghan scooping up 16 digs.

Neumann 3, SJC 0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-10)

Amanda Goldstein had a team-best six kills while recording eight digs in the second match of the day. Dempsey dished 10 assists with Martin coming away with 11 digs.

Regan Hickey led the Knights with eight kills with Ariana Pena contributing with seven. Setter Dani Smith recorded 17 assists with Tori Burgess finishing with nine digs.

The Golden Eagles return to Skyline Conference play on Monday, October 4 when they travel to face the United States Merchant Marine Academy at 7:00 pm.
