Women's Volleyball Captures 3-1 Win over Mt. St. Mary

Patchogue, NY|  The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's volleyball team pulled out 3-1 Skyline Conference win over My. St. Mary College in the Danzi Center on Saturday afternoon.

After falling behind with a 25-17 set one loss, the Golden Eagles went on to take the next three sets by scores of 26-24, 25-21, and 25-16 to secure the win.

St. Joseph's improves to 5-8 on the season with a 3-1 Skyline Conference mark. The Knights fall to 8-9 overall, 2-4 Skyline.

SJC's Deirdre Carney led the Golden Eagles with 16 kills on the day. Amanda Goldstein finished in double figures with 11 kills while adding six digs and four total blocks. Setter Tara Langford tossed 28 assists while serving up five aces with libero Kellianne Dempsey recording 18 digs. Kaitlynne D'Angelo and April Sexton pitched in with 15 and 11 digs, respectively.

MSMC's Grace Riddle led all players with a double-double of 19 kills and 12 digs while hitting at a .341 clip. Jackie Wolf added 10 kills with a team-best 14 digs. Setter Fran Cammaratta finished with 27 assists.

The Golden Eagles continue their homestand on Tuesday, October 12 when they host the College of Mt. St. Vincent at 7:00 pm.
