Women's Volleyball Falls to Farmingdale in Five

Farmingdale, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's volleyball team was unable to close out a Skyline Conference contest with Farmingdale State and fell 3-2 on Thursday evening.

The Golden Eagles came out to an early lead with 26-24 and 25-22 wins in sets one and two but were unable to secure the match as the Rams bounced back to take the final three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-11 and 15-12.

SJC moves to 5-10 on the season and even out at 3-3 in Skyline play. Farmingdale improves to 10-9 overall, 6-1 Skyline.

Kayla Martin led the Golden Eagles with eight kills while serving a pair of aces and picking up 14 digs. Deirdre Carney and Amanda Goldstein added seven kills apiece with the latter finishing with four total blocks.

Setter Veronica Miessmer tosses 25 assists and recorded 10 digs with libero Kellianne Dempsey picked up a team-best 19 digs.

FSC was led by Mikayla Profeta with a match-high 16 kills. Kalena Ricketts finished in double figures with 10 kills. Setters Lexi Cavalieri and Molly Miller dished 17 and 16 assists, respectively. Madisyn Pozo scooped up 19 digs.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, October 16 when they travel to Bard College and take on the Raptors and SUNY Maritime.
