The St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 non-conference loss to Hunter College on the road on Thursday evening.

  • Junior Madison Gremli knocked down a match-best 13 kills while collecting nine digs

How it happened
  • Set one saw the Hawks lead by as many as five, 10-5, but the Golden Eagles inched back to within one several times, but the home team came away with the 25-23 win
  •  After Hunter took a 2-0 match lead with a 25-20 win in the second frame, St. Joseph's held off elimination by taking set three 25-19
  • A tightly played fourth set needed extra points to determine a winner and after both sides traded points down the stretch, it was Hunter that came away with 28-26 win to take the match 3-1

  • The Golden Eagles finished with 44 total kills to Hunter's 42
  • The home team displayed solid defense with 73 digs, 12 block assists, and two blocks
