Donna O’Connors joined the St. Joseph’s College athletic department in a full-time capacity in 2011 but had been a per diem table staff member for men’s and women’s basketball games since 1997.

During her 10+ year career at SJC, O’Connors has served in multiple positions: Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Outdoor Facilities (2011-14), Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-athlete Services (2014-17), and Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services (2017-present), In 2021, O’Connors added the Senior Women’s Administrator role to her title.

O’Connors is responsible for ensuring the department abides by college, Skyline Conference, and NCAA regulations. To help ensure our 16 varsity teams are compliant with these regulations, she has assisted the development and implementation of the department’s procedure and compliance manual, which helps to service the department’s overall mission.

She also oversees 275 student athletes for academic monitoring and advisement while acting as an on-campus liaison for student-athletes. She also serves on the SJC Retention Committee, is a first-year experience facilitator and an athletic department assessment coordinator, has collaborated with IT/Dean offices to implement academic tracking reports and protocols, and has served on the Skyline Conference Championship committee for track & field. O’Connors oversees the NCAA graduation and sports demographic reports and is presently serving as the sport administrator for the men’s and women’s soccer teams, and the baseball team.

Prior to arriving at St. Joseph’s College, O’Connors spent over 17 years with the Long Island YMCA, Inc. where she worked her way up through many positions from aquatics director to facilities and program director. During her tenure at the YMCA, she developed an ability to manage different facets of facility operation and programs while implementing risk management standards; recruited, trained and managed staff; and assisted in fundraising activities. She still volunteers with the American Red Cross as a lifeguard and first aid/CPR/AED instructor.

O’Connors holds a bachelor’s of science degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta in dietetics and received her New York State Coaching Certification in basketball.  While at Oneonta, Donna was a two-year captain of the Red Dragon women’s basketball team, served as an assistant coach to the team, was a residential advisor, worked in the sports information department, and developed and oversaw the implementation of the athletic department’s game management program.
