Newburgh, N.Y. - The Golden Eagles suffered their second straight shutout loss at the hands of Mount St. Mary, 2-0. Other than an early effort by Jessica Cordano (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot), the Eagles didn't do much to threaten the Knights in their first Skyline Conference match of the season.
Cristiana Votta (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) had another solid effort with six saves. Votta held the Lady Knights scoreless through the first 60 minutes.
The Knight's Shanice Robe broke the tie with her fifth goal of the season at 62:28. Marissa Segreto sealed the victory with her second of the year for Mount Saint Mary in the 83rd minute.
The Golden Eagles will look to bounce back as they travel to Riverdale, N.Y. on Tuesday night to take on New York University at 7 P.M.
