Gallina, Birkmire & Iavarone Named to All-Skyline Sportsmanship Team

New York, N.Y. – Three St. Joseph’s student-athletes were named to the Skyline All-Sportsmanship Team for the 2014-15 winter sports season.

Thirty athletes in total were chosen and each are now eligible to win 2014-15 Male & Female Sporting Awards, which is voted upon by the Skyline Conference’s directors of athletics at the end of this academic year.  

“I commend these student-athletes for demonstrating good sportsmanship and serving as an example throughout the season,” said Skyline Commisioner Linda Bruno.

Senior Jenna Birkmire (Shoreham, N.Y./ Shoreham Wading River) of women’s swimming team, senior Nick Gallina (Lake Grove, N.Y./ Lake Grove) of men’s basketball, and freshman Andrea Iavarone (Miller Place, N.Y./ Miller Place) of women’s basketball were the honorable selections representing SJC.

“Sportsmanship is an integral component of the Skyline mission and it is my privilege to recognize these individuals for their sincere appreciation of the athletic experience,” Bruno said.
