Men's Golf Takes Second at the Long Island Intercollegiate Championship

Bellport, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's golf team hosted the Long Island Intercollegiate Championship this past weekend, as the team finished in second (644 , +76) out of five teams, at the Bellport Country Club. This was the team's last tournament before taking the big stage at the NCAA's on Saturday.

Christian Bleck led the Golden Eagles finished 11 strokes above par with a 76, 77 (153)  which was good enough for a third place finish.

John Melandro finished in eighth place with scores of 80 and 81 in the first and second round for a total of 161.

Zac Campanelli rounded up the top-10 with a 10th place finish (82,81) scoring a 163.

Rob Bray ended the weekend with a 12th place finish going +25 (84,83, 167) and Dan McNamara concluded the seeding with score on 85 and 94 (179) which was good enough for 18.

Head Coach George Cangero and his team will travel to Rochester, NY for the NCAA Division III Golf Championship which begins on May 7 at the Midvale and Mendon Golf Clubs.
