#1 Women's Lax Looks to Repeat as Skyline Champs in Rematch of 2015 Final on Sat.

Patchogue, NY| The first seeded St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's lacrosse team will host second seeded Farmingdale State College (8-9, 6-1) in a rematch of the 2014 and 2015 Skyline Conference finals on Saturday afternoon with a conference title and an NCAA Tournament berth on the line.
The Golden Eagles (21-4, 7-0) enter the game on a 10-game winning streak having most recently defeated SUNY Old Westbury 19-9 in the semifinal round on Wednesday.
The Golden Eagles have not suffered a Skyline Conference defeat—regular season or playoff—since April of 2014, when they fell to Farmingdale in the final. In last year's final meeting, SJC edged the Rams 7-5 to capture its first conference title in program history.
In their only meeting this season, the Golden Eagles claimed a 7-5 victory behind a three-goal performance by sophomore midfielder Kristin Carroll. Keeper Lindsay Ramos made eight saves on 13 shots.
Setting the pace for SJC will be the senior midfield partnership of Heather Ferchland and Jessica Cordano who recorded 55 and 58 points, respectively, so far this season. Additionally, Cordano is tied for first in the conference in assists (41), and second in ground balls (57) and caused turnovers (38). Ferchland is tied for first in caused turnovers (40).
The Golden Eagles' top-ranked defense (8.43 goals against average) will be tasked with handling the sixth-ranked offense of Farmingdale, who averaged 10.18 goals-per-game in 2016. Headlining the FSC attack will be junior Brittany Rosino, who is currently fourth in the conference with 52 goals.
