Eagles’ Offense Shutdown by Old Westbury
Patchogue, N.Y. – The St. Joseph's Golden Eagles (4-10, 2-1 Skyline) managed just three hits in the 8-0 loss at the hands of the Panthers of Old Westbury (6-12, 5-0 Skyline).
The Panthers' starter Arismendy Nunez was spectacular in his three-hit complete game shutout as he struck out nine and did not walk one batter.
Dan Diblasi (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst), Joe Libertatore (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point), and Joseph Lynn (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) were the only Eagles to reach base, each with singles but they were all retired before they were able to reach second base.
Robert Hyde (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) had his roughest outing of the season surrendering six earned runs on ten hits in six innings. Jonathan Beekman (Ridge, N.Y./Longwood) gave up a run in his two innings pitched. Each Eagle pitcher struck out one and walked five batters combined.
The Eagles travel to William Patterson this Tuesday for a non-conference game.
