Men’s Soccer Draws with Maritime

Throggs Neck, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's soccer team secured a 1-1 road draw with SUNY Maritime in a Skyline Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

The result sees the Golden Eagles move to 2-9-1 overall on the year and 2-4-1 in Skyline play as the Privateers slide to 7-7-1 (2-3-1 Skyline).

SJC's only goal came off the foot of Rayneri Ruiz, who opened the scoring in the 41st minute when he converted a goal off a feed from Damian Duda.

Maritime tied the game in the 45th minute to ensure the sides were even (1-1) at halftime.

Overall SJC was outshot 15-10 in the contest and generated four corners to Maritime's five.

Tyler Flaherty made six saves on seven shots in the contest.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, October 19 when they visit Sarah Lawrence for a Skyline Conference contest at 7:00 pm.
