Men's Tennis Beats Sarah Lawrence in Regular Season Finale
Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) men's tennis team beat Sarah Lawrence, 9-0, in a Skyline Conference contest at the SJC Outdoor Field Complex on Saturday afternoon.
The win sees the Golden Eagles improve to 3-9 overall and 2-5 in Skyline play on the season. The team will compete in the Skyline Conference playoffs next week as the sixth seed.
William Vita and Jessica Jones were 8-4 winners at first doubles as SJLI swept the doubles matches, 3-0. Gordon Shouler and Tyler Brock secured an 8-0 win at third doubles.
Cory Stengel, Dylan Trude, Shouler, and Haley Celona were all 6-0, 6-0 winners at third, fourth, fifth, and sixth singles, respectively.
The Golden Eagles will play in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday. Opponent TBD.
