Men's Volleyball Headlines Skyline All-Conference Awards
New York, NY| Four Golden Eagles have earned Skyline All-Conference honors including freshman Mark Williams who was named Player of the Year along with classmate Clint Johnson dubbed Rookie of the Year when the Skyline Conference released its end-of-season men's volleyball awards on Monday morning.
Senior David Slager and junior Quinn Foglia also landed the All-Conference Team while senior Jason Siriban was an All-Sportsmanship Team selection.
Williams earned Player of the Year honors leading the conference in kills (89) and kills per set (3.56) and digs (51). The two-time Skyline Conference Player of the Week finished second in the conference in hitting percentage (.418) and digs per set (2.04) and third in service aces (19).
Johnson, a three-time Rookie of the Week, led the Skyline with 226 assists averaging 9.42 assists per set. The freshman added 24 kills and finished third on the Golden Eagles with 37 digs.
Slager earns his first All-Conference recognition after leading SJC and the conference in service aces (25) and service aces per set (1.14), and digs per set (2.05). The opposite side hitter-turned-outside hitter landed among conference leaders in hitting percentage (.292) and kills (54).
Foglia was a force at the net leading the conference in hitting percentage (4.38), total blocks (19), and blocks per set (.73). The junior finished third overall with 65 kills.
In a shortened eight-match season, SJC posted a 7-1 overall record and was named runner-up at the Skyline Conference Championships.
