Track Posts Many New Marks at Molloy Invitational

South Huntington, N.Y. – The Golden Eagles posted another solid weekend of races, records, and success at the Molloy Invitational hosted at St. Anthony's High School.

Another two SJC school records were broken and nearly every Golden Eagle competitor broke at least one career or collegiate best record. It was a long day of competition, but St. Joseph's faced high-quality teams such as the University of Buffalo and most of the NJAC teams.

Sophomore Jessica Pierno (East Patchogue, N.Y. / Bellport) captured a new school record in the triple jump with 9.48m. Placing fifth out of ten, the men's 4x200 relay team, compiled of Mario Mayen (Center Moriches, NY/Center Moriches), Mike O'Shea (Ronkonkoma, NY/ Connetquot), Brian Frejka (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford), and Nicholas Russo (Bellport, NY/t. Anthony's) broke an SJC record with a race time of 1:36:25.

With both the NJAC Championships and the ECAC Championships right around the corner, each race is essential and the Golden Eagles have been proving themselves with their outstanding abundance of broken records.

This Friday, the Golden Eagles compete in the Ramapo Invitational at the New Balance Track and Field Center in New York City at 9:00 a.m. — this is their last meet before the NJAC Championships.
