Cross Country Wraps Season at NCAA Atlantic Regional

Houghton, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's and men's cross country teams completed their 2017 seasons at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region Championships at Houghton College on Saturday afternoon.

The women's team--led by senior Erin MacDonell, who placed 138th with a time of 24:50.8-- earned a 29th-place finish in a field of 41 competing schools.

Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year Meagan Haviland finished in 185th place (25:58.2) and sophomore Karli Murphy (26:08.6) came in 190th place.

Senior Amanda Sprague (25:26.2) and junior Abigail Lehr (26:30.0) rounded out SJC's top five with 199th and 201st-place finishes.

Paving the way for the men's 31st-place finish in the 8k race was ECAC individual champion Ryan Haun, who came in 89th place with a time of 26:19.0.

Behind Haun in 148th place was senior James Dachille, who posted a time of 27:11.9 in his final collegiate race.

Sophomore Nick DeLuca (27:58.5) took 186th and freshman Tom Newham (29:36.0) finished 242nd.
