Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's tennis team was handed a 9-0 defeat by Yeshiva Univeristy in a home-opening Skyline Conference contest on Tuesday evening.
The loss sends the Golden Eagles to 0-3 on the year and in conference play as the Maccabees improve to 1-0.
The first doubles team of senior Ryan Freeley and junior William Vita fared best in doubles action, dropping an 8-1 decision.
Freeley would capture two game victories in a 6-2, 6-0 first-singles defeat, and junior Tyler Brock nearly stole a set in a 7-6, 6-1 fifth-singles loss.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, April 28 when they host the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy for a Skyline Conference showdown at 5:30 pm. On-site spectators are strictly prohibited.
