Eagles Break Records at NCAA XC Regionals

Canton, N.Y. - The Golden Eagles cross country teams achieved their best-ever performance this past weekend at the 2011 NCAA Division III Cross Country Regionals at St. Lawrence University, with both the men's and women's squads breaking individual and team records.

The women placed 18th on the day as Christine Cristobal finished in 42nd place (the best SJC finish ever) with a time of 23:17.  That broke Brittany Carter's old record of 25:02 set in 2008. 

AnnMarie Zigrosser (24:25), Caitlyn Ryan (24:32) and Gillian Goodwin (24:34) also beat Carter's mark, finishing just behind Cristobal.

On the men's side the Eagles were 26th  Eric Haun broke his own school record, that he had set in 2008 (28:52), with his 27:30 performance.  The top five SJC men - Mike Lombardi (27:56), Mike Buscemi (28:24), Jon Afanador (28:42), Jon Heitner (28:44) - also broke the old record on Saturday.
