The Dolphins started hot and scored three runs in the top of the first inning but the hosts brought the game back to within one (3-2) when consecutive bases-loaded walks scored freshman Jenna DeFina (2-for-4) and junior Elise Grau (2-for-3).

Mt. St. Vincent posted two more runs in the fifth inning and held off SJC's seventh-inning advances to clinch a 5-2 victory.

Mt. St. Vincent posted a two-spot in the first inning and took another early lead (2-0). SJC cut the deficit in half (2-1) in the bottom of the first and later on went up 6-2 courtesy of a five-run third.

Senior Lyndsay Smocer opened the scoring in the fifth with a bases-clearing double and made way for sophomores Lindsay Ness and Kassandra Tibbetts and freshman Victoria Iavarone to later score on a double error by the CMSV third baseman.

Junior Alyssa Rivera extended the lead to six runs (8-2) in the bottom of the fifth inning with a two-RBI before SJC clinched a 10-2 win with a two-run sixth.
