Men’s Basketball Held by Trinity

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team suffered a 52-30 defeat to non-conference rival Trinity College inside the Danzi Center on Saturday afternoon.

The loss sends the Golden Eagles to 3-12 on the season as the Bantams improve to 13-4.

Senior Mike Harris recorded a game-best 10 points and was credited with three rebounds. Senior Isaiah Moore went for six points and five rebounds and fellow classman Jarred Marrow grabbed a team-high six boards.

Trinity's Joe Bell matched Harris with 10 points on 3-for-6 shooting from the field.

A low-scoring first half yielded just 39 points split 24-15 in favor of the guests.

In the second, SJC came within six points (31-25) when Eddie Higgins converted on a layup with 12:26 to play, but it would be the closest the Golden Eagles would come en route to a 52-30 defeat.

Poor from the field, SJC shot 22.2% compared to Trinity's 37.0%. The Bantams also held statistical advantages in rebounds (44-32) and points in the paint (16-6).

The Golden Eagles return to the hardwood on Tuesday, January 23 for a Skyline Conference contest at SUNY Maritime at 7:00 pm. Follow the action with live video and live stats here.
