Track and Field Completes Outdoor Season at the NJAC Championships

Glassboro, NJ| The men's and women's outdoor track and field teams both competed at the NJAC Championships hosted by Rowan College last weekend at the Richard Wackar Stadium in Glassboro, NJ.

Overall, the women's team finished seventh out of nine teams with 19 points and the men scored nine points to finish ninth out of nine schools.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Brian Frejka, Mike O'Shea, Daniel Antonawich, and Anthony Figorito placed sixth with a 45.11 time. They would later compete in the 4x400-meter relay and place a sixth-best time of 3:31.69.

The women's 4x100-meter relay team (Briana ShandAshley ArquerJennifer Holownia, and Madelyn Kowalevich) also had a sixth place showing with a 53.72 time.

Erin MacDonell placed sixth in the 10,000 meter run, crossing the line at the 41:48.07 mark. 

In the long jump, Holownia became the first female jumper in program history to record a point at NJAC's with her 4.83-meter leap.

Gabrielle-Ada Mason became the first female pole vaulter in program history to score at NJACs with her 2.90-meter vault. 

Heptathlete Jessica Pierno placed fourth in the Heptathlon with a 3363 score, and broke the school record in the heptathlon shot put with a program-best and first-place toss of 10.61 meter. She also placed eighth in the open shot put with her 10.13 meter toss. 

Rob Sarno also placed in the high jump with a sixth-place 1.78 jump to become the first jumper to score at the NJAC Championships.
